Very large prototype Anglepoise lamp. The prototype Anglepoise (1932/33) features the tall cast base with a slightly smaller (than later) shade. The model 1208 had a shorter cast base which is slightly more common.
The virtual appraisal from anglepoise archive centre (Anglepoise.com) suggested it looked like the 1273A (industrial long arm version of the 1273) – They couldn’t provide /I have not found a 1273a to compare it to – but the base suggested it was the prototype. A second opinion checked at an auction house suggested they thought it was the long arm variation of the prototype giving to the tall cast base.
Lamp is in full working condition and has been fully pat tested.
